The Importance of Connection
Houston is home to one of the largest refugee populations in the United States. Many refugee families who arrived seeking safety now face a new challenge: navigating an unfamiliar education system, often without the language, resources, or support structures that other students take for granted.
Math Made Simple steps up to close that gap — not with pressure or grades, but with warmth, problem sets, games, and confidence-building exercises designed to meet students exactly where they are. Our sessions focus on group connection, joy, and the confidence that comes from realizing you understand something you didn't before. We hope to build long-term relationships and foster life-time skills and mindsets going forward.
